Are there are things going on in your life that prevent you from being fully happy? Perhaps your thoughts are stuck in a spin cycle of shame, blame, or guilt. Or maybe you have unresolved emotional pain, unyielding heartache, or haunting regrets. You might be feeling completely powerless, hopeless and stuck.
There’s a part of you that knows that these thoughts and feelings are not your natural, authentic state – yet, you can’t seem to be able to fully (or even partially) access who and how you truly are. You may even have resigned yourself to what Thoreau called “a life of quiet desperation” – just given up on your dreams (too impractical!) and settled into permanent survival mode.
It’s not a very pleasant place to be in, is it? And you’re probably also beating yourself up for not being able to break free from all these painful, heavy thoughts and feelings.
Here’s some good news: it’s not your fault for being in this space! You’re not broken, you’re not an alien or a freak, and you’re certainly not a waste of space. Take a deep breath, and remember that you’re not broken, and even more importantly, it is well within your power to break free from all this doom, gloom, and suffering. How can I be so sure of this? Because that’s exactly what happened to me!
